Fileliq vs Paperza: finish a stack, or finish a feeling

Paperza wants your first conversion to feel kind. Fileliq wants the fifth job to be as cheap as the first. If you live in a folder, stay dark. If you live in one PDF, the warm room is honest — and slower to operate once you know what you want.

Who each room is for

Fileliq assumes you will repeat. Convert is a bench, not a greeting. The queue is visible. ⌘K jumps to a slug. `g` then `c` / `t` / `p`. Guest convert is allowed; the account is for when the queue becomes a habit. Paperza assumes you might never come back. Giant dropzone. Italian second person. Fifteen seconds, then goodbye if you want.

If you are here, you probably already hated a pastel converter. Stay. If you are sending a relative a link so they can merge two pages, send them Paperza. Do not make them learn a status bar.

UX: density versus welcome

Chrome on Fileliq is the point. Topbar, queue drawer, status line. You see bytes in and bytes out on compress. You see ENGINE_UNAVAILABLE when a worker binary is missing — the slug stays, the job row tells you. Paperza hides that operational noise on purpose. Different honesty. Ours is the job row.

The tools index is a table you can scan, not a tray of clay tiles. Live versus stub is a column, not a surprise. If you care which raster path is actually up, you are already a Fileliq user.

Batch, queue, shortcuts

This is the gap that matters. Fileliq treats a list of jobs as a first-class object. Enqueue. Watch. Download. Repeat. Paperza will let you convert again; it will not make the queue your home. Keyboard: help is a cheat sheet, not a hug.

Merge, split, extract, rotate, compress — merge PDF, split, compress — are meant to be hit in sequence. Paperza’s same verbs sit in a calm grid. Calm is correct for one file. Sequence is correct for a desk.

Privacy, short and unsentimental

Both delete working files after a short window. Fileliq does not put a gazette in the masthead. Retention is in privacy and the job expiry you already saw in the queue. Paperza writes it warmer. Cifradocs writes it as an edition. Pick the tone. Do not invent a different company.

Controller is the same person. Name, VAT, street in Turi — footer, every time. The dark UI is not a separate legal entity. It is a different default for people who hate waiting on copy.

Power user, not consumer mascot

Fileliq is speed and batch. Paperza is easiest first conversion. Pdfmira is pictures. Filenava is a team rail. Do not run Fileliq as a kids’ site. Do not run Paperza as a trading desk. PDF to JPG here is a slug you can type. There it is a hello.

Pricing is a limit table, not a story: pricing. If FREE chokes Office, the page says so. No ‘unlimited magic’ line.

PDF→Office is lossy. AI is not a converter.

PDF to DOCX will mangle complex layout. Same engine family as the warm site. LibreOffice is not Adobe. If the worker is missing, you get ENGINE_UNAVAILABLE, not a fake download. Keep the original PDF when the layout is the product.

AI summarize / translate: coming soon. Not live. Do not queue a model. Do not expect a rewrite of the file. When they ship, they get a status, not a halo.

Stay in the queue

Stay on Fileliq if the next action is another file. Use Paperza if the next action is closing the laptop for someone else. Same controller. Different hands. Queue yours.

A worked hour: ten invoices to raster, one merge, one compress. On Fileliq you enqueue, you watch the dock, you hit D, you do not re-learn a greeting. On Paperza you would finish the first file faster and lose the list. If that hour is yours and it repeats tomorrow, the dark room is cheaper in attention. If that hour is your aunt converting a school PDF, the warm room is cheaper in explanation. Do not send her a status bar. Do not staff a dropzone. Convert when the stack is yours.

PDF→Office in that same hour is still a draft. AI is still not a converter. The queue will not lie about either. Paperza will not lie either — it will just say it with a hug. You came here for the row. Stay for the row.

Facts. Not a scoreboard.
